Working with a partner can be difficult and easy at the same time. During the Revolutions project, some times it is great to work with someone and sometimes it isn’t. A partner can help divide work for you or you could end up doing all the work and your partner does nothing. Or they could slow you down - if you work with a great friend, you might just end up not doing any work at all.
Partners can take a lot of weight off of your back. They can do equal share of the work. When you work alone, you have all this work to do, but if you work with someone else they can help you get it all done. If you miss something they can help you fix it, and you always have another opinion to make your work even better.
Sometimes, when you work with a partner you can end up doing all the work, and your partner doing nothing. Working with a partner can be hard as well as easy, it may be just like working alone. Your partner might be off doing nothing or just not helping, and no matter how many times you ask for them to help you, they won’t. They either do all the work, or do none of it. If you like doing all the work, then working with a partner who does nothing can be helpful, but in the end when they get credit for the project as well as you, it doesn’t feel so great. If you don’t like doing any work, then having a partner who will do everything can be very helpful, but you probably won’t get much satisfaction out of it. It just all depends on what kind of a person you are.
Working with your friends may seem fun at first, but when the project is due, you might be screwed. Friends tend to be our first choice as a partner, and we will always try to work with them, but they may not be the best choice for you. Some people work really well with their friends and can get a lot done, but others have a hard time with it. They will end up just talking and goofing around the whole time; they may not even have a project by the time the due date rolls around. Your friends may be the ones you are closest to, but they may not be the ones you will work best with.

Hi Annie!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures! Sometimes, a person asks me if I will be their partner and I say yes, but then I realize they aren't doing any of the work. I never know what to do in that situation because I don't want to dump a ton of work on them but I don't want to do it all myself. What do you suggest I do about that?
Sincerely,
Ruby
I think you should tell them how you feel, and divide the work up evenly.

ReplyDeleteannie,
ReplyDeletei feel the same way some times i can relate to what your blog says. the point is that you blog is very good and is so informative. i have worked with partners before but they never work like you think they would so thats why i chose to work alone for the project. i felt as though some times the partner relies on me to motivate them but other times i have to be motivated because they dont need help! hey keep up the grat work and best of luck on the project!
