Decisions

Do you ever think about what’s behind a decision? So many decisions that were made hundreds of years are very crucial today. And if you think about it everything we do today is crucial for tomorrow or for another hundred years from now. Decisions affect our world in positive and negative ways for example, Adolf Hitler; he made the decision to kill approximately six million Jews. Or even 9/11 that dark day in New York City, where 2,819 lost their lives and 3, 051 children lost a parent. One person’s decision can ruin thousands of people’s lives. Just one thought, turned into an action, can affect millions of lives of lives for the better or for the worse. If King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain hadn’t funded Christopher Columbus then we may not have 313,008,649 here in the US. Our ancestors made the decisions to create the USA. Our fathers wrote the laws to enable us to make change, and make decisions. And the hero’s of the past play a great role today such as. Harriet Tubman with her underground railroad saved many. How did she decide to step up and take leadership over the racial discrimination? So many heroes’ today did amazing things but how did they decide to do them. Abraham Lincoln, or Nelson Mandela who changed millions of lives. Susan G. Komen who is a recent hero right now her foundation is trying to help millions of women. Many use decisions for the better or for the worse, decisions matter, and actions matter. We can start revolutions. We have started revolutions. One man’s decision leads us to our freedom, decisions and ideas can catch like fire and spread.
One thought can change the world, one action can change the world, and one decision can change the world.
Hi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of your blog post! I really like the examples you made. Every decision could change the world. Not very many people think about that stuff, including me. You did a great job explaining the topic. It really opened my eyes about how crucial every decision is. I learned a lot of things through your blog, like how many people Hitler killed, exactly 6 million jews. Aside from that I learned to take my decisions very seriously. I really enjoyed reading your blog and the use of different vocabulary was great!

Hi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteI liked how you took such a simple idea like decisions and explained whats behind it. Such a simple thing like a decision, which we make everyday, can make such a difference in peoples lives. If we make a mistake it could ultimately change many people's lives. I liked how you added examples of where big decisions have been made. Have you ever had to make a decision that could change people's lives? Its scary that if we make one poor decision it could ruin our lives forever, or if we make an amazing desicion our lives would never be the same again.

Hi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteI love how you made your topic somewhat like a question, making the reader have to wonder about all the decisions they make in a day, a week. I wondering do you think that the decisions we have made help us in this day, like the quote from the Constitution, do you think that today this helps us more, or hurts us, do the same rules of logic still apply. I love the detail, and quotes in your post!

Hello Lucy,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your blog post because it wasn't just stating the facts, it made me think. these are my favorite pieces of writing because its directed to the reader. I also enjoyed how you asked questions that involved the topic. You had a great structure in this blog because you have supporting details and made me wonder 'Wow, what would of happened if this person didn't do this?!?! ' which is a good skill in a writer. Your quotes made the support into knowledge and made me think of real-life situation where making choices is really important. Great blog
Hi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteI love the theme of your blog post. I think that you had great questions for your reader. I like how you don't have a bunch of facts but I like how you added some questions in the post. Will you pay more attention when you make decisions?
