The definition of Christianity can be said through a verse in the bible, and that verse is John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but shall have everlasting life. That is the true definition of what it means to believe in God. By believing in God, you also believe in his son, Jesus, my holy savior, who was crucified and then died on the cross for us, so that we could all have an everlasting life.
My personal experience from being a christian has probably been the best part of my life so far. The reason that I say this, is because I know that every second of the day, I am loved by God and I love him for that. Some of the best things that have come along from being a Christian are from the way that I treat people, the ways that they treat me, going to my Church, and all around appreciating life for what it is and how God has given me the amazing gift of the world. Now people sometimes ask me "Why are you so nice?" and the answer is simple, it is because of my faith in God. Everything that I read in my bible and that I hear from my pastor has always been how God loves all of us, and that he is always looking out for us. Whenever I am at Church, I always get this feeling of great love and joy in my heart and a sense of purpose and meaning. It always has an impact on my day, no matter what type of day it is. Some of the lessons that my pastor teaches me about are how God wants us to live our lives and how we should live them (and the truth is, if we followed all of God's rules, we would never hear of things like anger, war, lying, fighting, STIs, etc.). I have tried to follow God's rules and to be honest, I am a work in progress at them.
Some of the benefits of being a Christian have really turned out well; mostly on the outcomes of my actions, and seeing life the best way that it can be. Most of the benefits have been from my church and from my friends at church. The benefits of going to church have been that I get to learn about God, I get to learn about him with friends, and that I get to love all people just the way that they are. Some small and not really important benefits from going to church have been that each time I go there, we play games right before we get into the lessons. Another small and fun benefit from going to church has been that they give out free donuts! Beside from those small benefits, the most important ones have been the ones that came before those.
I hope that all of these things about Christianity have inspired you to maybe look into asking deeper questions. In fact being a Christian is so simple, it is a matter of the heart. All you have to do to become a Christian is say I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that through him, I have eternal life. And just like that you can become a Christian! That isn't so bad is it? Now you can officially call yourself a Christian with that one easy step!
In case of bad times
You can still use your faith to get you through tough times, faith never makes life easy it makes life possible.
As is says in Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God Works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Dear UnbeatableDude,
ReplyDeleteI love how you express your passion and feelings for Christianity. I personally don't practice any given religion, but I do believe in god and the main beliefs of the main religions. What are the pros and cons of being a Christian? How has being a Christian morally affected your decision making?
Sincerely,
Purplesealsonpluto
Dear Purplesealsonpluto, I appreciate the comment. To answer your question about what the pros and cons of being a Christian are, to be honest, there are a lot of pros of being a christian, but they can be described above. And for the cons, there are none! That's what is so great about Christianity! And to answer your second question, It has affected me in a way for my decision making because whenever I come into a tough decision I ask my self, WWJD (or also known as What Would Jesus Do). Thanks again!

Dear UnbeatableDude,
ReplyDeleteI very much love seeing how devoted you are. I am a very devoted catholic, and it is very nice and humbling to know someone my age shares the devotion to god. Every day, I make decisions every day that are shaped by how religious I am. I was wondering if that happens to you? And what designs do you make? I don't eat meat on Friday, I've given up sugary drinks, and try to go to church every day. Does anything like that happen to you?
